Jinky Buffalo
wrote, and directed
the media
production for
Paramount Parks
newest attraction
at Paramount's
Great America,
Survivor: The Ride.

This attraction is
based on the
popular CBS reality
television show.

Written and directed by Jinky
Buffalo's John Rust, and
produced by Kevin McDonald,
the media includes multiple
game branching video
segments and an entertaining
Queue Video.  It's the world's
first "reality" ride!

Do you have what it takes to
be a Survivor?

Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird,
Grover, Prairie Dawn, Telly and all
the Sesame Street friends have
invited you to join them for their
First Annual Sesame Street Film
Festival.
Working closely with Children's Television Workshop,
Jinky Buffalo's John Rust co-authored the script and
directed the film for Universal Creative, a division of
Universal Studios.  This multi-million dollar film
currently plays at Universal Studios Japan.   John
created both a Japanese and an English soundtrack
for this unique audience interactive family film.

Jinky Buffalo/John Rust was
contracted by Paramount
Parks to rewrite the script for
this live-action revue.
The ride is  hosted
by
Jenna Morasca
winner of Survivor:
The Amazon, and
Ethan Zohn, winner
of Survivor: Africa.
Paramount Pictures’
blockbuster feature
School of Rock
comes to life in a
wildly energetic,
high-voltage, live
rock concert
featuring raw
acoustics and first-
rate rock concert
theatrics; all
supported by a full
band and a play list
One great rock show really can change the
world!
of unforgettable rock and roll
classics by artists such as Led
Zeppelin, Joan Jett and Van
Halen.
Everything starts well but ends up in creative chaos
in this exciting 3D musical movie adventure.

John's participation
included casting/directing
voice-over actors, hiring
composers, facilitating
orchestral scoring sessions,
audio design, and the
on-site mix installation.
Over eight hours of original music was composed and produced
just for background music in the park. This music is heard in Area
Development, retail shops, and building interiors throughout the
five themed islands.

Original music soundtracks produced  for attractions included:
The
Amazing Adventures of Spiderman, The Cat in the Hat, Dueling
Dragons, Popeye and Blutos Bilge-Rat Barges,  Incredible Hulk
Coaster, Doctor Doom's Fearfall, Storm Force Acceleration, Dudley
Do-Right's Rip Saw Falls, One Fish Two Fish, Caro-seuss-el,  the
Flying Unicorn, Me Ship the Olive, and the original productions of
The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad, Poseidon's Fury, and Toon Lagoon's
Cartoon Pandemonium.
In addition, John created over fifty point source audio
performances throughout the park.  Everything from an emergency
telephone in SuperHero Island, to a mumbling mortician in Comic
Strip Lane, to the souvenir park soundtrack CD.

As he did for Islands, John
created a theme song for the
park and hours of background
music for 54 acres of Area
Development, 24 retail shops,
21 restaurants, and 18 major
attractions.
He contracted composers,
engineers, and installation
crews to perform on-site
audio mix sessions to
customize each soundtrack
for the show environment.
For Universal Studio's entry in the Rose Parade,
John created produced an original soundtrack
just for the audio soundtrack on board the vehicle.

The unique design featured a continuous music
track that could be cross-faded to a "magical
moment" for key locations along the parade route.
